Solubility: Freely soluble in ethanol 70%, the solution may show an opalescence
Acidity : neutral to litmus
Optical rotation : (-) 16 to 21 deg.
Weight per ml : 0.889 to 0.910
Refractive index : 1.455 to 1.460
Assay by glc : l-menthol 36%-40%
Total menthol 50% min.
Terpenes Content-13% to 15%
